The Chevrolet Monte Carlo was introduced in 1970 as a 2-door coupe remaining such throughout its history. It was manufactured over six generations through model year 2007 when it was discontinued. The Monte Carlo was originally created as a counterpart to the then new Pontiac Grand Prix, introduced in 1969.
