The Cadillac Series 60 name has been used since 1938 and would become synonymous for Cadillac’s Luxury models. Although all of the 1st generation of the 60 Special were built at the Fleetwood Plant, in 1938 & 1939 they were marketed as Fisher Bodies. Fleetwood bodies were offered as an option for most Cadillac series and stood as the perfect example of the luxury car and status symbol for the day, by Cadillac, a division of GM.
