The Cadillac Seville was primarily designed as a luxury car from May of 1975 – 2004 but also as a smaller-sized, top-of-the-line Cadillac. In the mid-1980 models, the car was very popular with older women who wanted a Cadillac but in a smaller, easier to handle size.
Seville’s name comes from a Spanish province, as well as the Capital city, known for it art and architecture treasures. The Seville name first used by Cadillac was designated for the 2-door hardtop 1956 Cadillac Eldorado. (1960 was the last model year of the Eldorado Seville.) Later, it became associated with the Elegante package, the Tripmaster, and Gucci.
