The Allante was considered Cadillac’s two-seat luxury roadster, produced from 1987 to 1983. It was the standard Cadillac chassis and running gear but the body was styled and built in Italy by Pininfarina. (Pininfarina is a specialty manufacturer of passenger car bodies, commonly called “coachbuilder.”) It was an expensive method to produce in Italy and fly the bodies back to Detroit for assembly however, over 21K were built.
