GM G-Platform / G-Body

General Motors G-platform or G-Body designation was first used for mid-sized, rear wheel drive cars such as the 1969 - 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix and 1970 - 1972 Chevy Monte Carlo.  The G-body was introduced in 1969 running through model year 1988. The G-body cars were some of the most popular cars of the '80s are remain so today. G-Bodies were the last cars to follow the classic "Muscle car formula," while other mid-sized cars moved to front wheel drive.
